Located on the West Plaza (High Street) Representative Irma Karmol served in the Ohio General Assembly from 1975 to 1979. She died in a car a car accident while en route from Columbus to her home district in Toledo. As a respected legislator, Karmol was honored at her death by having flags hung at half-staff on all state buildings and later with this plaque at the Ohio Statehouse grounds.
