Visitors may enter the building at Third Street or the South sliding doors in the underground parking garage on the Green Level. On session days, visitors may also enter at State Street. The Ohio Statehouse is handicapped accessible and senior-friendly.
The Capitol Square complex includes the Ohio Statehouse, Senate Building and Atrium. The buildings are not only working government offices but a magnificent monument to the people and the period during which Ohio's democracy was founded and formed.
Guided tours are available every day, except on state holidays. On weekdays, walk-in tours start from the Map Room on the hour, every hour, starting at 10 a.m. with the last tour starting at 3 p.m. During the weekends, walk-in tours start at noon, 1 p.m., 2 p.m., and 3 p.m. Please call 614-728-3726 for more information or to schedule a tour for groups of 10 or more people. Visitors may take a self-guided tour. Please note that while the Ohio Statehouse is open to the public on the weekends, the House and Senate Chambers are kept locked, and are only available to be viewed during guided tours.
Tours depart from the Map Room easily accessible from the Third Street entrance. Visitors are welcome to drop in at least five minutes before the hour. Groups of 10 or more are required to call or email at least two weeks in advance to ensure a guide is available for your group. Contact tours@ohiostatehouse.org or 614-728-3726 for more information or to schedule a group tour. Groups of nine or fewer are not required to schedule a tour in advance and may join any hourly tour.
