The large bee is the red queen of the west hive. This is her first year.
The Ohio Statehouse apiary is doing well. Both hives have re-queened themselves this year. Honeybees are pollinators and are essential to our environment. The Ohio Statehouse grounds have been planted with special pollinator gardens.
Local Ohio honey is often available at the Statehouse Museum Shop on the ground floor of the Ohio Statehouse.
