A major, new oil painting of Ohioans in Space was unveiled and installed in the Ohio Statehouse Rotunda facing the picture of the Wright Brothers. The project is funded by private donations.

The 12 ft. by 9 ft. artwork was painted by William “Bill” Hinsch, and shows Ohio astronauts, John Glenn, Neil Armstrong, Jim Lovell and Judith Resnik along with Flight Director Gene Kranz and their spacecraft. A plaque with more than 25 names of Ohio astronauts will be installed near the painting.
