Description

"The Beecher Sisters: 19th Century Social Reformers" will be presented by Christina Hartlieb, Executive Director of the Harriet Beecher Stowe House.  The public program at the Ohio Statehouse is in honor of Women's History Month 2024.

Educator Catharine, abolitionist Harriet, suffragist Isabella and Mary, the “quiet” one, are sisters who represent social change in 1800s America. They used their Power of Voice when it wasn’t popular for women to do so.

The performances are tentatively planned to be livestreamed on OhioChannel.org if possible.

The 45-minute live performances start at noon, and will be followed by 15 minutes for Q & A.

The events are free and open to the public.  Reservations are not required.  If you or your organization would like to schedule a group to attend a performance, please contact Katie Montgomery at 614-728-3726 or kmontgomery@ohiostatehouse.org.

Mark your calendar:  A second Women's History Month presentation is scheduled for March 26, 2024 at the Ohio Statehouse.  "Music of the Women of the Civil War" will be presented by Steve and Lisa Ball at noon.
