Half-staff Flags for State Senator Schuring
In honor of the life and service of State Senator Schuring, Governor DeWine has ordered the flags of the United States and the state of Ohio to be lowered upon all public buildings and grounds throughout Stark County and at the Ohio Statehouse, the Vern Riffe Center, and the Rhodes State Office Tower today, and will remain until sunset on the day of his funeral.

All other public buildings and grounds throughout the state may fly the flags of the United States and the state of Ohio at half-staff at their discretion for the same time period.

Senator Schuring will lie in state on Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2024 in the Ohio Statehouse Rotunda from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The funeral service will immediately follow and will take place in the Atrium from 2 to 3 p.m. The event will be live streamed by the Ohio Channel.

The public is welcome to pay their respects.
