Diane Grendell served three consecutive terms in the Ohio House, ending her tenure in 1999. She served as a member of the following House committees:
-Children and Youth Subcommittee (chair),
-Health, Retirement and Aging,
-Local Government and Townships,
-Agriculture and Natural Resources, and
-Family Services.
Her district included Geauga County and northern Trumbull County. Grendell, a graduate of Baldwin Wallace College and Cleveland Marshall School of Law, is a registered nurse and an attorney, practicing toxic tort litigation. She was active in community organizations such as the Geauga County and Chesterland Historical Societies, the Chesterland Chamber of Commerce, the Geauga County Farm Bureau, the Ohio Nurses Association, the Township and Trustees Association, and the Ohio Bar Association.
During her professional career, she had been admitted to practice law before the U.S. Supreme Court and the Federal District Courts. She has also served as chair of the Operation Legal Shield, which offered free legal services to families of northeastern Ohio military personnel during Operation Desert Storm.
