Biography

Annie L. Key was elected in 2000 to the Ohio House of Representatives. A native of Cleveland, she represented the 11th District, which included Newburg Heights, Cuyahoga Heights, Brooklyn Heights and parts of East Cleveland. Key served on the following Senate committees:

-Ethics and Elections Committee (ranking Democrat member),

-Criminal Justice,

-Transportation, and

-Public Safety,

 

Representative Key's professional affiliations include membership in the Rainey Institute; the Black Women's Political Action Committee; the National Council of Negro Women, Inc.; the NAACP, and the Cuyahoga Women's Political Caucus.

 

Prior to serving in the state legislature, Key attended Cleveland State University and Cuyahoga Community College, and was employed with Ohio Bell and later with AT&T.
