The State Flag of Ohio was designed by John Eisenmann and was adopted into legislation on May 9, 1902. The flag's design is symbolic of Ohio. The triangles represent Ohio's hills and valleys. The stripes represent our many roads and waterways. The "O" stands for both Ohio and the buckeye. The Ohio flag is flown in a variety of places, from government buildings to sporting events and homes.
