The 2010 Ohio Statehouse Holiday Festival and Open House took place on December 1 and marked the beginning of the holiday season on Capitol Square and throughout Ohio.

The Ohio Statehouse holiday kickoff event is a special tradition that dates back to 1915.

Santa and Mrs. Claus were greeted by Senator Richard Finan, Chairman of the Capitol Square Review and Advisory Board and First Lady Frances Strickland. There were more than 3,000 people on hand to celebrate the season.

After Santa and Mrs. Claus' arrival, visitors were invited into the People's House for the 2010 Ohio Statehouse Holiday Festival and Open House.
