Dawn of a New Light, an oil painting by Howard Chandler Christy, was completed in 1950. It is on display near the Rotunda of the Ohio Statehouse. It honors Thomas Edison and his inventions. Edison was born in Milan, Ohio in 1847, and his first house can be seen on the left side of the painting.
