Capitol Ohio : 101 - The Map Room
The Map Room is a busy, important room that connects the Statehouse and Senate buildings. It is distinctive because of the marble county map of Ohio in the floor, which was completed in 1993 and was donated by the county commissioners from the state. The bronze sculptures on the wall are another distinctive feature. These sculptures of historic and modern classrooms were created by George Danhires of Kent, Ohio, and they feature famous and historic images related to the state.
All Statehouse tours begin in the Map Room.
