Black History Month : Living History Presentation: Phyllis Wheatley
Phyllis Wheatley was an African American poet during the American Revolution and was the first African-American to publish a volume of poetry. "Poems on Various Subjects" was published in 1773. She died at the age of 31 after having written more than 100 poems.
She is portrayed by Sandra Quick, a member of educational storytellers known as "We've Known Rivers."
