Description

The Butler County Historical Society will return to the State Capitol to mount an exhibit in the Map Room. On display will be part of their massive collection of pre-historic items including points, stone axes, knives, and warming rocks. Butler County encompasses an area rich in history, and included in their exhibit will be the original bell from Fort Hamilton, (built in the fall of 1791), which was constructed during the Ohio Indian Wars. Rounding out the exhibit is an 18th century pipe tomahawk presented by Little Turtle to original Ohio settler Thomas Hueston in 1792.
