Description

Ohio Pioneers is a traveling exhibit from Marietta College’s Legacy Library.  The exhibit features the history of European exploration and settlement in the Ohio River valley.  The panels describe the Northwest Territory, the Ohio Company of Associates, Co-existence and Conflict, and more.   The exhibit will be on public display in the Ohio Statehouse Map Room during the summer.  Learn more with educational lesson plans at, https://library.marietta.edu/ohiopioneerseducational

 

The exhibit is inspired by the book, The Pioneers:  The Heroic Story of the Settlers Who Brought the American Ideal West, by Pulitzer Prize winning author David McCullough.  The book is available for purchase in the Statehouse Museum Shop.

The exhibit will be displayed at the Columbus Metropolitan Library after it leaves the Ohio Statehouse.
