Welcome To Capitol Square

Welcome to Capitol Square, a complex that includes the Ohio Statehouse, Senate Building and Atrium. The buildings are not only working government offices but a magnificent monument to the people and the period during which Ohio's democracy was founded and formed. The Statehouse is handicapped accessible and senior friendly.

Free Guided Tours Daily

Guided tours are offered Monday through Friday every hour on the hour with the first tour beginning at 10 a.m. and the last tour beginning at 3 p.m. Guided tours are offered on Saturdays and Sundays at 12, 1, 2 , and 3 p.m. Please note that while the Ohio Statehouse is open to the public on the weekends, the House and Senate Chambers are kept locked, and are only available to be viewed during guided tours.

Tours depart from the Map Room easily accessible from the Third Street entrance. Visitors are welcome to drop in at least five minutes before the hour. Groups of 10 or more are required to call two weeks in advance to assure a guide is available for your group. Contact Katie Montgomery ( at 614-728-3726 for more information or to schedule a group tour. Groups of nine or fewer are not required to schedule a tour in advance and may join any hourly tour.
