Biography

Katherine Walsh, an attorney from Oberlin, Ohio, was educated at the University of Pittsburgh and Cleveland Marshall College of Law. Her service as a state representative included membership on the following House committees:

-Insurance,

-Public Utilities,

-Veteran's Affairs,

-Civil and Commercial Law,

-Elections and Townships,

-Public Safety and Highways,

-Judiciary and Criminal Justice, and

-Ways and Means.

 

During her tenure in the Ohio House of Representatives, she was appointed as acting judge for the Oberlin Municipal Court.

 

She was involved in the March of Dimes Executive Committee, the Oberlin Civil Services Commission (chair), the Legal Aid Society of Lorain County, Firelands Council of Boy Scouts, and the Ohio and Lorain County bar associations. She has been honored for her achievements as Outstanding Legislator of 1990, Ohio Academy of Trial Lawyers; Merit Award recipient, Association of Ohio Probate Judges, 1990; Award of Distinction, Ohio Association of County Boards of MR/DD; GLADD Award, Governmental Leaders Against Drunken Driving; Recognition of Service, Arthur James Cancer Hospital for the establishment of Ohio Cancer Incidence Registry, and Ohio Victims of Crime Honor Roll.
